Base technology

The “ball SAW sensor” base technology of Ball Wave is an innovative chemical sensing technology that delivers small size, high speed, and high sensitivity.

This makes it possible to measure a diverse range of gases such as trace moisture, hydrogen, natural gas, and mixed organic gases by forming a sensitive film that differs depending on the measurement target on the surface of a very small quartz crystal ball.

This expands the possibilities for completely new sensing systems that offer a sensitivity around 100 times higher than conventional technology together with a fast response combined with the high-temperature and pressure resistance of a quartz crystal ball.

Trace moisture analyzer - FalconTrace
Capable of measuring moisture concentrations down to a level of 1 part per billion

The “FalconTrace” trace moisture analyzer can accurately measure the concentration of moisture in air down to a level of 1 ppb (part per billion) in a short amount of time using a ball SAW sensor.

With its never-before-seen compact size, it is also revolutionary in terms of portability. This is useful for moisture concentration management in manufacturing processes for semiconductors and rechargeable batteries.

This is a palm-sized gas chromatograph created through joint research with the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). This makes it easy to measure the species and concentrations in a wide variety of gases. It can be used in a wide variety of fields including checking the freshness and ripeness of fresh foods, scanning for harmful gases and strange odors in factories, and monitoring of fermentation and brewing processes.
